Blouse: A blouse is a midriff fitting top which is wore with the saree. Blouse enhances the beauty of the saree and the wearer. At Yelily we customize your blouse into unique neck styles and sleeve styles like: v neck, bustier, butterfly-bustier, string style, envelope, u neck, halter neck, one shoulder, pointed u neck, square, sweet-heart, decollete, horse shoe, collared sweet-heart, off shoulder, Chinese collared neck, scalloped, round neck etc. Sleeve styles like flutter sleeve, half sleeves, ¾ sleeve, full sleeve, asymmetrical sleeve, cap sleeves, drawstring, puff sleeves, short sleeves, sleeve less, elbow sleeves etc.

Pallu: The loose end of the saree is the pallu. Pallu of a saree is generally 1 meter in length with beautiful designs on it. Pallu falls over the left shoulder and below the knee. Pallu can be allowed to fall freely on your left shoulder or you can pleat it with a safety pin.

Petticoat: It is a skirt like clothing which is wore underside the saree. Petticoat is called pavada in south India, chaniyo in north and shaya in east India. Petticoat should always match the color of the saree.

Fall: Fall is cotton lining which is stitched at the lower end of the saree to protect it.

Pico/Edging: Pico is generally done on the free end of the pallu. This protects the pallu.

Saree buying tips:
Before buying a saree it is very important to think about your height, shape and complexion. A saree can be beautiful but would not look good after wearing it. Women with heavier body should prefer body hugging sarees like crepe, georgette, chiffon etc which gives them a slimmer look. Slimmer women can prefer cotton, tissue, tussar silks etc. These give them a fuller effect. Shorter women should avoid big boarder sarees as these make them look shorter. Tall women can try sarees with big floral prints or highly width boarder saree. This will make them look shorter. Women with dusky complexion should wear light colors. Where as women with fair complexion should go with bold colors.

Tips to know before wearing a saree:
Before wearing a saree you should know the following things.

1. Always use double lock pins for your saree, as safety pins usually tear the saree.
2. Always use a properly fitted blouse, as loose blouse make you look fat.
3. Always use petticoat that has A-line fitting. Avoid wearing loose petticoat, which makes you look fatter.

2. Clothes Care

Care for a silk saree is simple and if done in a proper way, the saree will last for years. For silk sarees, wash the boarder, pallu and body of the saree separately. The best way of washing a silk saree is to dip it in cold water with few drops of lime in it. Then rub gently, remove, wring lightly and dry in the shade. Pure silk sarees can also be washed using mild soap. Avoid the use of detergents & do not soak the saree in water.  Wrap the silk saree in a muslin cloth and store it away from sunlight. Change the folding of the silk sarees in every three months as it harms the zari or pattu.
